Who Are The Merfolk In Coral Island?
The new update released in Sep 2023 introduced the players to three new characters. Unlike the rest of the NPCs, these characters weren’t land-dwelling. Merman Semeru, and merwomen Denali and Princess Miranjani are amongst the first three merfolk introduced to the players. They each have unique personalities and love different types of things.
The merfolk also have their own language called Merakih. You will need to learn how to decipher the language first if you want to have a relationship with them. The game’s lore doesn’t provide much information about the underwater Merfolk kingdom, however, there are little clues spread all over the game.
For example, judging from various submerged artifacts that can be found all over the coastal areas, we can surmise that Merfolk are or were, tasked with protecting the oceans around the Coral Island. We will only know more about their culture and history once they become accessible.
Who Are The Romanceable Merfolk In Coral Island?
In the character profile, the game describes all of them as single. So, it is most likely that you will be able to form a romantic partnership with them, eventually. It is worth noting that players cannot romance these merfolk characters in Coral Island as of now. According to the developer, these three merfolk will indeed be available as romance options later in 2024, based on the Coral Island 2024 roadmap.
While the developer has confirmed that we can form partnerships with these merfolk in 2024, it hasn’t been confirmed when exactly will that be possible. The romance options in Coral Island seem to just keep growing. The developer had initially planned way less romanceable characters. Meet The Romanceable Merfolk In Coral Island
Coral Island currently houses three merfolk – one man and two women. While the game advertises their presence, no concrete storylines have been crafted for them just yet. It is highly possible that their storylines will be released in 2024 and offer an in for the players who are interested in forming romantic relationships with them. Let us, for now, take a closer look at each of Coral Island’s merfolk.
Semeru (Merman)
Semeru is the lead guard of Mermaid Kingdom. He has an unwavering dedication to keeping his underwater realm safe and can be described as extremely loyal, with a robust sense of duty. Besides his duty, he loves his pet lobster named Poseidon.
Denali (Mermaid)
Denali is the royal gatekeeper for the Mermaid Kingdom. She comes from a long line of proud gatekeepers and counts herself lucky that she can be part of that tradition.
Princess Miranjani (Mermaid)
Princess Miranjani is the royal princess of the underwater Mermaid kingdom. She lives happily with her family and is usually described as sweet, kind, and curious. Her curiosity is often compared to being as vast as the galaxy and she thinks door knobs are one of the coolest things to exist.
