Baldur’s Gate 3 Faith Leap Trial Walkthrough
To successfully complete the Faith Leap Trial in Baldur’s Gate 3 you need to carefully carve a path to the Ancient Altar. This has to be done in a manner so that you do not deviate from a predefined pathway to reach the Umbral Transporter.
Step 1: Blood Sacrifice
The first significant choice you will encounter in this challenge is after you reach the Ancient Altar. As you will interact with the statue, you will be offered three choices:
- Spill some of your blood in the bowl
- Meet the statue’s gaze
- Leave
To proceed in the challenge, choose “Spill some of your blood in the bowl”. This will initiate the blood sacrifice ritual and you will be exposed to a pitch-dark path.

Step 2: Uncover The Hidden Path
You can use a spell to reveal this path, use the fly option, or take a long jump to minimize the path distance (depending on your character).
If your character doesn’t have any special skill that can assist you in eliminating the distance, you can cross the path by maximizing your screen brightness and carefully taking the route ahead.
The key to traveling this path without dying is to stay towards the central path, pay attention to subtle lighting, and save progress repeatedly.
Step 3: Reach The Umbral Transporter
On the completion of the route, you will notice a glowing orb—this is the Umbral Gem. After claiming this reward, proceed to click on the Umbral Transporter in front of the statue. As you interact with it, you will be teleported back to the Ancient Altar, right where you made the blood sacrifice.
