- Prepare for your journey to Dry Valley by carrying a lot of food items and consumables like Snowberries to counter the hot temperatures or a Cold-Headed Charm for the same.
- You should also make an Uncommon Longsword which makes it easier to defeat the stronger Wolf in Dry Valley.
- Now head in the opposite direction of the snow mountains, at some point, you will reach the Dry Valley deserts.

- Explore around until you find the desert Wolf, it won’t take long once you are in Dry Valley. Keep an eye on the Wolf icon on your Visual Audio UI.
- Use your Longsword to defeat the Wolf and it will drop the Sand Claw along with some Meat.
- Go around and find more Wolves inside the Dry Valley and repeat the same until you have as many Sand Claws as you need. Don’t be too greedy though as nights in Dry Valley can be very dangerous.
How To Make A Longsword To Get A Sand Claw
You’ll need a longsword to get the sand claws from the wolves. To craft a Longsword, make sure you have your Crafting Bench upgraded first to the Uncommon tier. This will allow you to craft your first Longsword which is the Uncommon Longsword. Here is what you require to upgrade the Crafting Bench:
- Plank x8
- Shell x3
Once that is done, you can now interact with the Crafting Bench and make an Uncommon Longsword using these materials:
- Knotroot Rod x5
Knotroot is a material found inside Caves in the Grasslands. Once collected, you can then use a Lumber Mill to refine it into Knotroot Rods.
