Infiltrate Saugus Ironworks
To obtain the Crucible quest, you should have downloaded the new-gen update and progressed far enough to unlock it. If you have two of those prerequisites fulfilled, we can progress ahead. The Crucible quest will take you to the Saugus Ironworks.
Once you arrive at Saugus Ironworks, I suggest that you eliminate all the enemies on the outside and the inside so you can carry out the quest without any interference. Once you eliminate the enemies, head to the upper floor. There you will find a door that blocks you. You will need to crack the adjacent terminal to unlock it.
Fighting The Forged Keeper
Beyond the door, you will have to fight the Forged Keeper. Defeat the Keeper to obtain the Forged Keeper’s Note. The note mentions the Incinerator and the weapon’s testing process on recruits.

Crafting The Flame Resistant Armor And Obtaining The Heavy Incinerator
The note also talks about a cheating recruit using flame-resistant legs from the Power Armor. The evidence of the recruit using the armor is locked away by the Forged Keeper in a box upstairs. It is orange in color. You will require Expert Lockpicking Skills to open it. Make sure you pick up the password for the Smelter Console in it along with the Forge Recruit’s note.
Once you read the note written by the Recruit, you will know that they have hidden away the fire-resistant legs underneath the Crucible. To access it, jump down to the ground floor and press the red-colored “Molten Metal Flow Control” button.
Go upstairs again and use the Smelter Console password to access the terminal and “Move the Crucible.” Head downstairs again and dig on the Dirt Mount to find the blueprints for the flame-resistant legs. Once you acquire them, craft the mod, put on the power armor, and make your way over to the smelter. Head inside and acquire the Dirty Incinerator.
