If you are stuck at the Stage is Set at Kiyomizu quest in Onimusha: Way of the Sword, then you would probably be scrambling to find a way to complete the Continue Onward quest objective. This objective triggers right after absorbing the dark mass while making your way to the lower levels of the temple’s stage.
You have to trigger the appearance of the cave entrance by using your Oni Vision, and after reaching the exit, the objective will just tell you to keep going. Your map won’t be too helpful here either, so navigating the rest of the area could put a lot of pressure on you. Here’s how you should navigate the rest of the terrain to reach your destination.
The Stage is Set at Kiyomizu – Continue Onward Guide
Just before this objective trigger, I recommend testing out the new Oni Bow that you would have picked up inside the cave earlier. Being familiar with the bow and arrow technique will help you with the next part of the area.
Use the bow to unlock the cave’s exit by shooting at the glowing red spot on the gate. Then, head outside and jump across the gap near the waterfall. The next area will have some enemies, making it the perfect training ground for the Oni Bow. Clear the area, then head up the path to your left and go right. Cross the bridge and pick up the Lesser Soul Crystal here.
Finding the Floating Rock Core
If you turn around from where you picked up the crystal, you will find a large door with the same glowing symbol as found back at the cave. Use your Oni Bow to shoot at the glowing circle to unlock it. Go through the gate to find your first Floating Rock Core; shoot it down with your bow to clear out all the enemies below it.
Picking Up the Power Stone
Go through the gate beside the waterfall to reach an area with several enemies and a couple of Floating Rock Cores above. Shoot the cores to get rid of most of the enemies, saving you some time. Then, take the ramp on the right that goes up and continue down the path. Soon, you will spot a chest on a platform ahead, but you can’t jump to it.
Rather, go right and peer over the ledge to your left. You will find a bridge that has the same red circle mechanism that you encountered on the gates previously. Shoot the red circle to draw the bridge up and get across to the chest. You will find a Power Stone after unlocking the chest.
Reveal the Next Area Using Oni Power
Backtrack and continue down the path towards the broken structure ahead and get inside. You will find a spot to use your Oni Power here. This will reveal a new area. Hop onto the object in front of you and slowly inch your way towards the wooden platform. Continue straight ahead until the path splits into two. Take the left path first to pick up the Lesser Might Talisman, then backtrack and go right.
Go through the wooden gate on your left and continue down, then take a right. It might seem like a dead end, but if you stick to the left side wall, you will get an option to sidle. Inch through carefully to reach the other side, then climb up and follow the linear path.
Find a Way to Lower the Gate
Jump down after Musashi’s comment on the hungry genmas while looking at a doorway ahead, then go straight ahead. You will find another gate with the red circle, so use your Oni Bow on it. Go through the gate, then take the ladder up. Then, take the path on the left and go up and around the hill.
You will get a trigger to use Oni Vision here. This will summon another structure to appear; jump down and go left towards the wooden gate. Go right after passing the gate, then climb up, then look to your left. You will find another wooden gate, and if you look through it, you will find the other side of the gate you had pulled up earlier. Use the Oni Bow at the red circle to lower the gate back down.
Return to the area where the ladder was, and you will find that you can get on top of the gate and get across. Do just that and continue down the path to have the quest objective finally change to find the giant Genma, Daidara.
