Compared to other sets of collectibles and upgrades, Weapon Upgrades are limited in Replaced. You will find a handful of them throughout the game, so the chance of missing is very high, since some of them are tied to the side quests, and others are well hidden throughout the map. I have explored all the dark corners and hidden alleyways of the map to give you locations for all Weapon Upgrades in REPLACED.
All Weapon & Pickaxe Upgrades in Replaced
We will go through chapter by chapter to find all the weapon upgrades in REPLACED. There are a total of 7, starting from Chapter 3 onwards. Getting all of them nets you the
- Kinetic Inductor: Helps you gain energy from hits.
- Reduction Gear: Pickaxe hits will not generate more energy.
- Balance Unit: Increase Overdrive gain.
The upgrades are scattered, literally, throughout the game. You will find a Kinetic Inductor 4 in Chapter 5, and a Kinetic Inductor 3 in Chapter 6. Don’t worry about missing them; the game laid out its upgrades in an “RNG” fashion. But the location for each one of them will stay the same for the run.
Chapter 3
Kinetic Inductor #1
When you are in the water valve puzzle section, your goal is to turn off the water supply from two separate waterworks to open the route to the top. After stopping the water, instead of heading to the top-right of the map (main route), head to the bottom-right, and you will find this upgrade in the corner.
Chapter 4
Kinetic Inductor #2
Play the arcade game Jumper, and beat the score of 5000 to get the upgrade. We all have played the old game where you make the frog jump to move the creature across the street. It will take some time to get used to, compared to the first minigame. Remember, you just need to beat the score of 5000, and you are done.
Note: The arcade game Jumper only gets unlocked in Chapter 4; the machine is unfunctional in the previous chapter.
Reduction Gear
In Chapter 4, complete Excalibur’s questline, feed him a burger from the chef in the Bar. Once you feed the dog, he will lead you to a new area, which is a memorial of all the people who passed away. Here you will get the upgrade, Reduction Gear.

Chapter 5
Kinetic Inductor #4
After the chase sequence, you will drop into the fields, and soon you will evade the drone’s line of sight and drop outside the building, with the RV in the background. Here, instead of taking the right, head through the hole on the left and then jump over a fence to obtain the Kinetic Inductor 4.
Balance Unit
Complete the comic book quest from Tempest in Chapter 7, and you will get the upgrade.
Chapter 6
Kinetic Inductor #3
It’s hiding in the Main Block Control Facility; you can only get to the spot by air jumping on the rushing steam wind. Use the steam vents to climb on the poles hooked to the silos. Don’t move to the top, or you will be on the main mission route. Instead, swing on the poles until you get to the landing space in the small room to the right, as shown in the picture. Inside, you will find the way to the weapon upgrade.
Kinetic Inductor #5
The final upgrade is in the power cell room. left of the burned-out console at the end of chapter 6. You can’t miss it, since it is part of the main questline area. If you have followed all the previous ones, the Top Gear trophy should now unlock for you.
