It Begins
The chapter begins with Reach getting up in the Hospital with Veronica by our side. Talk to her, it is optional, but you will get a bit of story-related info, then head left until you come across the room with beds and blue curtains.
Scannable Object: Doctor’s Orders

In the middle of the room with hospital items, you will find the scannable object, “Doctor’s Orders.”
Next to the scannable object, we will find an old man lying on a bed. Talk to him to start the first side quest of Chapter 4. The old man asks to find his wife and daughter inside the tent next to the Safe Zone. We will complete the main quest in the area first, so we will have access to all the areas.
From the Hospital, make your way to the Yo-Yo Workshop to fix up the Battery. Once Yo-Yo fixed the battery, our next objective is to join the Council meeting at the Bar inside the Safe Zone.
Cat Location

Before we leave for the meeting, interact with the Cat next to Yo-Yo. And we will be one step closer to the achievement. Do note that if you don’t interact with the white cat inside the workshop, the cat will disappear in the future chapter, cancelling the achievement, “Sad Cats”.
Scannable Object: Solar Panels are Safe
Next to Yo-Yo, you will find a News terminal machine, interact with it, and read all the news to get the scannable object, ” Solar Panels are Safe.”
Music Track #1: Great Power, Great Responsibility/ Scannable Object: Phoenix Initiative Take Control

Now get out of the Yo-Yo Workshop and head inside the Safe Zone. Take the stairs down and interact with the spot next to the Zone of Exchange, and you will find a new music track, ” Great Power, Great Responsibility.”
Now head right of the music track location, and you will find the scannable object, “Phoenix Initiative Take Control.”
We have collected all the items in this section. Now, head up the stairs and into the bar. Here you will attend a meeting with the council members. After the meeting is over, with the cutscene, you will end up inside the Tempest’s Room. Here you can go right to complete the main quest, but we will save that for the end. Now we will complete all the side quests.
Old Man’s Side Quest

The old man asked us to find the flower tent outside the Safe Zone. So, get out of Tempest’s place and head towards the Safe Zone building.
Scannable Object: Nursery Rhyme

On our way to the Safe Zone, interact with the wooden board, right side of the Safe Zone, to get the scannable object, “Nursery Rhyme.”
You will find the flower tent, left of the Safe Zone building. Interact with the tent, and we will find a safe box requiring a password to open. Here, we must figure out the proper date and year for Winter/ Second Half/ Leap Year. The quick answer is 02 for Winter/ 18 for Second Half/ 1944 for Leap Year.
Health Upgrade #1: Genetic Profile
After you add the code, you will get the Family Photo item. Take a photo of the old man in the Hospital to complete the side quest. And you will get a Genetic Profile health upgrade as a reward.
Excalibur’s Side Quest

You will find Excalibur, the dog, sitting outside Yo-Yo’s Workshop. Interact with the dog, and we will find out that the dog is hungry and looking for some food. Our mission is to get the dog some delicious food to fill its empty stomach.
So head down to the Bar in the Safe Zone, talk to the bartender to get the Station Meal or dog food.
Scannable Object: About Reach

Don’t leave the bar yet. Now go all the way left of the bar, around the round table, and you will find a scannable object, “About Reach.”
Now get back to Excalibur and hand the dog food to complete the first objective. Once the dog is well fed, it will guide us to a hidden, locked door next to the platform, just next to the gap in the fences.
Music Track #2: Prayer of the Damned Ones

Go through the door to enter a new room. Here, you will find a scannable object, “Prayer of the Damned Ones” on the right, in the dark corner, next to the railings.
Weapon Upgrade ‘Reduction Gear’/ Scannable Object ‘Unsent Letter to Mole’
After you get to the track, head left, and soon you will find yourself in the memorial room with people’s names written all over the wall. Here, interact with the dog to get a weapon upgrade, “Reduction Gear,” and a scannable object, “Unsent Letter to Mole” as a reward.
If you haven’t petted the dog in the game, do it now to pop up the achievement, “We Are All Here For It.”
Edward’s Side Quest

Inside the Safe Zone, on the left, you will find Edward, the NPC. He will ask you to get him a map of the tunnel system so he can get to Phoenix City. We will find this specific map inside the Tempest’s room. Don’t worry, it’s not a stealth mission, just get to Tempest’s room and scan the map on the right.
Scannable Object: Edward’s Diary

When you get out of the Tempest’s room, you will find Edward dying on the street, in front of Yo-Yo’s Workshop. Interact with the dead body to get Edward’s Diary, and you will be asked to search a muriel outside the Safe Zone. So get to the Safe Zone and interact with Muriel on the left to complete the quest.
Weapon Upgrade ‘Rechargeable Ampoule’ / Scannable Object ‘Old Logs‘
Interacting with the Muriel will get you a “Rechargeable Ampoule” and ‘Old Logs’ scannable Objects.
Susan’s Side Quest

Get to Arcade, and this time, Susan would have fixed up another Arcade machine with a new game, Jumper.
Scannable Object: Mommy’s Letter
Before we play the game, interact with the scannable object next to Susan, and you will get the scannable object, “Mommy’s Letter”.
Helpful Tips on Jumper Minigame
Basically, here you just help a frog cross the street, the street will have running cars, and seagulls in the forest to kill our frog. Just get a score over 5000, and you will complete the quest and get the reward. Here are some helpful tips:
- We have 20 seconds to get our frog to cross the street. It might not seem enough, but it is a good amount of time for earlier rounds. So don’t rush it, always wait, and leave once the road is mostly empty of cars.
- We have three lives; a single hit by a car will kill the frog, and so will crashing into a rock. Movement is very sensitive; that’s the only way to victory. Once the car phase is over, navigate between the black rocks properly in the forest section without crashing into them. It might sound easy, but if you accidentally press the directional key twice instead of once, you can kiss the frog goodbye.
- Once you cross the street into the forest, watch out for the seagulls; make sure they are far away from the frog before crossing the gap. The seagulls are quick and ferocious, and will deliver instant death to our frog. Maintain the distance between the frog and the seagulls, and you will be fine.
- The longer you play the game, the faster everything will become, that goes for the cars on the street and the seagulls hovering over the forest area. The game will then add seagulls for extra challenges.
Weapon Upgrade: Kinetic Inductor
Getting the score over 5000 will get you the Kinetic Inductor, a weapon upgrade. It allows your melee weapon to gain more energy on hit, which will help you fire your Gun Shot more quickly than ever before.
Scannable Object: Ironwood’s Note

Now leave the Safe Zone, and enter the Platform on the right of the Railway Station. Here, you will find an artist drawing the scene; you can talk to him. And, on the generator, next to the telescope, you will find the Ironwood’s Note, a scannable object.
That’s it, we are done with everything in this chapter, it’s time to leave. Make your way to the Tempest’s room, go through the hole on the right, and you can continue your adventure with the next Chapter.
