After you’ve completed all the side quests and collected all the collectibles in Chapter 4, it’s time to board the train to Chapter 5. Chapter 5 puts us back into the action-adventure with a good amount of stealth sections and a boss encounter. The level also has a dozen collectibles that could easily be missed, since most of them are hidden in particular spots in the area. Here is a complete walkthrough of REPLACED Chapter 5.

It Begins
The car ride with Tempest comes to a stop with bullets flying in our direction. You will see a single enemy across the bridge, shooting at us. Up until now, we only had the option to dodge the gunshots. But now we can deflect the gunshots by pressing the deflect key (deflect button, mine set to Q).
Ability: Deflection

Press Q only when the white line from the enemy’s gun turns red; don’t do it too early, and press it when the color is white. Always wait for the white color to turn red, then press Q to deflect the projectile or bullet back to the sender.
The first deflection will be part of a tutorial. Once you deflect the bullet, take the stairs and interact with the hatch in the middle of the room. We will find out that the hatch is locked. Head back to Tempest, and he will perform his magic to unlock the hatch and release the steam air.
Ability: Double Jump

Now we unlock the ability to double jump on the steam wind.
Just press the jump button (Space key) twice to perform a double jump only in the areas where the steam is blowing out of its surface. You are not allowed to perform a double jump everywhere. Once you are standing in an area with wind or steam gushing out of its surface, press the Space key twice to perform the double jump.
Double jump allows you to reach distant places by carefully pressing double space. You can still mess up the double jump if you perform the second jump way too late or too early.
Using the Steam Vent Machine
First, take the stairs behind the Tempest’s car, leading to the house without rooftops, and use the poles on the walls to reach the upper floor. Now use the double jump over the steam vent to cross the gap. Now again perform a double jump to jump over the massive gap between the broken railway track.
Once you make it to the other side, move to the right, and you will find a machine that blows steam out of its surface. It will be in an inoperable condition. Next to the steam vent machine, you will spot a battery. Interact with the battery and carry it to the steam vent machine to activate it. The steam vent machine will now be fully operational. Next to the steam vent machine, you will find a building with a giant hole in its second story. That’s our way out of this area. Use the steam wind to perform a double jump to get through the hole and get inside the building.
Scannable Objects: Protestor’s Note

After heading through the hole in the building, you will find the first scannable object, “Protestor’s Note”, found below the stairs, next to the wall with graffiti.
Combat Encounter #1
Head down the stairs and jump to the right to encounter the first combat arena in Chapter 5. You will not find any bigger enemies; here, we are dealing with quantities. Here you will have to defeat more than a dozen enemies. I will recommend deflecting the bullets, but sometimes dodging is the best solution. Most times, you will see the gunshot prompt and the melee attack prompt, often at the same time, within the frame.
It’s always better to dodge than risk it all on deflect. If you deflect the gunshot right at the same time, as a common enemy hitting you with a melee attack behind your back, you will take the damage from the melee, even during animation. Since the enemy attacks are slow, when the animation of one attack ends, the damage from the second attack will play out almost immediately.
Scannable Object Cult Leader Arrested and Health Upgrade

After you defeat all the enemies, climb down, turn left, and go through the empty train cart. Near the end, you will find a scannable object, “Cult Leader Arrested.”
Now head right, and now go under the train’s cart, and you will find a health upgrade, hiding underneath the train. You don’t have to crouch; just walk behind the train cart, and you will fall down to the whole area below with the upgrade in the middle.
Broken Crosswalk Overbridge
Now, climb the ledge on the left and go through the empty train cart, and keep moving right. In this new area, you will find an inoperable steam vent machine sitting in the middle of the area. Interact with the machine and push to the left. Now climb up on the machine and perform a jump to the ledge on the left. Make your way to the top of the broken crosswalk overbridge. Once you are on the top, perform a jump to the other side.
Here, head right, drop down, and on your left, you will find a battery sitting ideally, in the middle of the room. Grab the battery and take it to the inoperable steam vent machine we used earlier to climb up the ledge. Insert the battery into the machine, and now push it all the way to the right, into the new area (Where we found the battery). Now use the steam from the machine to grab the ledge on the right and then use the hanging train cart on the left to launch yourself through the hole on the right.
Scannable Object: Termite’s Regrets

Now just move to the right, climb the ladder to the rooftop. Once you are on the rooftop, instead of moving to the right, turn around and jump to cross the gap on the left. Here, you will find the Termite’s Regrets.
Combat Encounter #2
After picking up the object (Termite’s Regrets), head right, slide down to enter the next combat arena. But with a new ability, Overdrive. Which we can use after successfully killing enemies and charging the outline around the gun. Once the charge is full, press the Overdrive key, mine is set to the R key.
Ability: Overdrive

In the Overdrive mode, Reach will stand still and shoot multiple shots from his gun. The gun does the same amount of damage as regular gunshots after charging. But unlike a common Gunshot attack, where we can only use it once, Overdrive allows us to take multiple shots. So when you enter the Overdrive mode, just use the direction keys to turn your character. Reach either to his left or right to shoot at the enemies.
I would recommend moving into a safe location within the combat arena before pulling the Overdrive key. I always recommend picking up a place with no enemy behind your back, so you can just focus on one side, shoot everyone who is at the front. The Overdrive is also effective against shielded enemies and the giant machines with exosuits.
Note: You will see the Overdrive meter along with its associated key on the bottom-left of the screen. Pay attention to the key prompt, left of the gun, to know about the charge progress.
Scannable Object, Help Those in Need/ Update Notes and More Donors Needed
Defeat all the enemies by using the Overdrive skill, now head left to pick up the collectible, “Help Those in Need.” After picking up the note, start moving to the right, and you will find a computer terminal in the middle of the street. Interact with the machine to get the collectible, “Update Notes”/“More Donors Needed.”
Stealth and Plaforming

Keep heading towards the right, and you will come across a drone overlooking the street. Unfortunately, crossing the street is our only way out, so prepare for some stealth sections. After the street section, you have to carry out the stealth sequence inside a hotel, then to the back alley, which will lead you to the rooftops.
The stealth section is now over. Now we must bring our focus back to platforming, not just common platforming; this time, you have to do it over electrified water. One tiny mistake and you will get zapped to the gameover screen. So time your jumps to get past the section. Luckily, the game saves the progress between the platforming sessions. So don’t worry, keep moving to the right until you come across a ladder, leading to the top of a water tank.
Climb the ladder, move to the right until you come across a giant billboard with a steam vent machine under it. But the machine will be in an inoperable condition, head to the open doorway on the right to grab the battery. We will use the battery inside the inoperable steam vent machine to activate the steam.
Scannable Object: Watergate Scandal

In the room with the battery, you will also find the “Watergate Scandal” document. Scan it before picking up the battery in the room.
Insert the battery into the steam vent machine, push the machine all the way to the left, and use it to get to the platform on the billboard. Once you are on the billboard’s platform, you will find a yellow crate or box. Push the crate to the left until it falls on the ground. Now we will use the crate to get on the billboard’s platform instead of the steam vent machine. On the ground, push the machine right in the middle of the billboard, just make sure the steam from the machine is passing through the billboard’s platform.
Now get on the crate and jump to the billboard’s platform, use the scaffolding behind the billboard to get to the top, now move to the right, the air from the steam vent will help us cross the gap. Just keep moving to the right, and you will find yourself in a combat scenario.
Combat Encounter #3
Nothing special about the combat section, just make use of the Overdrive skill to clean the room as quickly as possible. Pay attention to the charge meter at the bottom-left and press the overdrive button at a safe location to kill all the enemies quickly.
After defeating all the enemies, keep moving to the right, climb down the pole, just like you thought, it will break down, resulting in you falling on the ground. And soon a cutscene will trigger.
Even More Platforming

When we wake up, we will be in a different part of the game. Move to the right and use the pickaxe on the shabby wall, swing on the pole to the right to land on the platform. The platform will have a wooden crate on it. Push the crate until it falls onto the ground. Now, get on the ground, push the cart all the way to the right to head through the vent. Follow the vent, it will take you inside the office building.
The route is linear, and soon you will find yourself in another platforming section, where the water on the ground will have running electricity. Just like the last time, time your jumps before performing them. Or you will have to start all over again.
Scannable Object: Action Figure

Once you are in the middle of platforming, in the ladder section, instead of taking the route to the top-right, get to the bottom-right to grab the collectible, “Action Figure”. You will have to use the pickaxe on the shabby wall to get to the corner with collectibles, as shown in the picture above.
After grabbing the collectible, get back to the ladder and now make your way to the top-right, climb the ladder, and start moving towards the left. Soon, you will reach a dead end. Here, climb on the pile of wooden tiles at the corner, jump, and use the pickaxe on the shabby wall above the red graffiti.

The spot is barely visible due to the lightning, and it took me a while to find the exact point.
Combat Encounter #4
Follow the linear path through the vent, and you will find yourself coming face to face with a dozen enemies. The encounter will have a huge giant robot, which may look intimidating, but they share the same mechanics as the older big guys in earlier chapters. Take out both of the robot’s armor to deal damage. If you are playing on hard, remember to roll once, attack, and repeat until the gunshot charge is full. One of the nasty attacks of the robot is when it punches the ground and releases a gush of steam. Don’t stay inside the red circle, or you will take a good amount of damage.
Defeat all the enemies, then proceed to the left, and you will soon find yourself outside on the ladder.
Scannable Object: Portable Solar Panel

Now climb the ladder until you see a large space on the right, with red light peering out of a vent on the concrete wall. Jump to the right, head inside the vent, and you will find yourself in a small room, with the collectible, “Portable Solar Panel.”
Puzzle Platforming

Grab the item and then get back to the ladder and climb all the way to the top. Move to the right, and we will be in a new puzzle section. As you will see, the water on the right has running electricity, so push the steam vent machine (Inoperable), close to the water, but not too close, or you will get shocked to death. Climb on the machine and jump onto the hanging concrete wall, then land on the other side.
Here you will find a large machine with two buttons, one on the left, one on the right, and a slot for battery removal in the middle. Press the button on the right to turn off the electricity from the water on the right. Head right, grab and push the crate to the left, and place it on the ridge edge of the machine. Don’t take it too far; it’s needed for the later section.
Now interact with the middle of the machine to take out the battery, which will lift the hanging concrete wall on the left to the upper floor. Take the battery and insert it into the steam vent machine. Push the machine a bit left of the hanging concrete wall.
Now go back to the yellow crate on the right, climb on it, and perform a double jump to get to the upper floor. Head to the left, jump on the hanging concrete wall, and then lastly, do a double jump above the steam air to cross the gap. Keep heading in a linear direction, and you will find a ladder. Get on the ladder to the top and move to the right to enter a combat scenario.
Combat Encounter #5
This combat encounter features a lot of enemies. I will recommend taking out the shielded enemies first, then bring your focus to the enemies with the weapons. Lastly, you can take out the giant robots by taking out their armor. If you are having problems, then use the Overdrive ability to clean off the room. But it will take some time; until then, focus on the game plan.
Scannable Object: Rusted Pin/ PCPD Trooper’s Report/ Nixon vs Phoenix Corporation
After clearing the room, go left, and you will find the collectible item, “Rusted Pin“. After grabbing the item, head right and interact with the terminal on the right. Read both news in the terminal to get the collectible, “PCPD Trooper’s Report”/”Nixon vs Phoenix Corporation.”
Chase Sequence

After you grab the collectible, you will be put on a chase sequence. And it is a difficult sequence in the game. What makes the sequence difficult is the drone chasing you and dealing with the annoying jump animation. If you don’t time your jump, you will fall, and the drone will catch up and will make plenty of bullet holes in your body. I will recommend timing your jumps correctly. It can be difficult; it only takes one mistake, and your character trips and falls over every hurdle on the floor.
After the chase sequence, it will all come down to the sliding session; compared to the first part, it will be easier. Slide and jump onto the poles on the walls to swing to another sliding section. The jumps don’t have to be too precise compared to the first section. Just focus on grabbing the poles to be safe and get through the section without any issue.
Open Field Stealth Sequence
The sequence will put you in a new area, the basement of a building. Head to the right, and you will find yourself in an open field surrounded by long grass and plants. Your character will automatically enter the crouch position. Now, you just have to navigate through the grass and stay away from moving drones and their red lights.
Keep heading to the right, and you will be inside a building. Again, the stealth section is not over. Move cover to cover, and get out of the window on the right.
Music Track “A View to Die For”/ Weapon Upgrade: Kinetic Inductor

Here, instead of moving right, head through the hole in the wall on the left. And you will find the music track, “A View to Die For”.
From the last collectible, jump over the fence on the left, and you will find a weapon upgrade, “Kinetic Inductor.”
After grabbing the upgrade, keep heading to the right. It’s a long stealth sequence, so hide from the drone’s line of sight, and you will be fine. After the long stealth sequence, you will meet with Tempest, and he will guide you to the next room.
Last Puzzle

In the new room, push the steam vent machine found on the right to the left of the room. Now use the air from the vent to climb on the poles on the ceiling. Swing on the poles to land on the spot on the right. Here, you will find a computer panel attached to the wall. Interact with the panel to lower the poles on the ceiling.
Now get on the ground and push the steam vent machine to the right side, where it was originally placed. Once that’s done, move to the left, jump, and swing on the poles to land on the platform on the right. No need to interact with the computer panel, just use the steam from the machine to get to the top.
Boss Arena Against the Commissioner

After a brief walk, you will enter the boss arena. Defeat all the enemies, and the Commissioner will jump in. Here, our objective will be to shoot at the generator on the right. But we can’t shoot the generator all the time; there is a panel covering the generator, protecting it. The only way we can remove the panel for a short period is by defeating all the enemies and then beating the Commissioner boss, removing a single block of health from his HP bar (Commissioner has three HP blocks in total).
Defeat the Commissioner once his HP bar is gone, and use the Overdrive to shoot the generator.
Note: You can also use melee strike against the generator to charge your gun and Overdrive meter.
Just like the Commissioner, the Generator will also have three blocks of HP. After removing the first one, common enemies will rush towards you. Defeat all of them to summon the Commissioner boss, defeat the boss, and then start shooting at the generator for the second time.
Now, for the final section, the same sequence plays out: defeat all the enemies, then the boss, and shoot the generator to destroy the machine and complete the mission.
