Spider-Man 2’s expansive New York City sandbox now includes Queens and Brooklyn, marking a series first with adventures across the East River. The game’s fast-travel feature has received significant enhancements for a more streamlined experience.
Unlike its predecessors, where fast travel was unlocked after completing specific missions and visiting locations, Spider-Man 2 allows you to initiate fast travel almost right from the start, offering greater accessibility and speed when moving around the city.
How To Unlock Fast Travel And District Progress Rewards in Spider-Man 2
To activate the fast travel feature in Spider-Man 2, you need to reach the second level of the District Progress Bar. When you reach this point, you’ll receive two Rare Tech Parts, which are valuable for crafting new suits for both Miles and Peter. The second reward on the progress bar allows you to access fast travel within that specific area.
To use fast travel, you simply hover over the location you want to go to on the map and press the Triangle button. On the map’s left side, you’ll find various activities associated with the area. As you progress through the game, more activities will become available.
These tasks include completing FNSM Requests, uncovering Photo Ops locations, or collecting pieces of Marko’s Memories. By thoroughly exploring and completing activities in a region, you can unlock all three rewards, including the option to fast travel within that specific area.
The system operates with remarkable speed and smoothness, ensuring that your existing momentum, whether from swinging or flying with your wingsuit, carries over seamlessly to your new location. This quick transition takes only a few seconds, making it effortless to traverse the expansive game map, especially when you’re on a mission or striving to complete District Progress objectives.
