Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is back with a familiar taste, but not the same. With overhauled mechanics, graphics, and more tweaks, it’s like diving into the seas for the first time. Since it’s a new experience altogether, there are certain things I wish I had done first to make the journey easier. To make things easy for you, here are ten things you should do in AC Black Flag Resynced.
1. Getting Pistol Sword

The original and resynced versions of Black Flag had four pistols by default. While four shots combo is a standard count, you can increase your lethality by equipping Pistol Swords. The best part about using these swords is that you can fire two shots without depleting your ammo.
2. Using Rope Dart for Ranged Combat

Rope Darts have been pretty helpful for my gameplay, as it opens tonnes of opportunities. But best-case scenarios have been for Stealth. Instead of using loud whistles to lure enemies, you can now use Rope Darts to reel them close and perform a finisher. Furthermore, Rope Darts have longer range than starter pistols, so make sure to use them to take out enemies on lookout towers.
3. Capturing Early Game Forts for Profit

During the early game of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, you’ll come across various beginner-level forts. Make sure to capture them. By doing so, you’ll be able to send ships from Kenway’s Fleet to gain materials and Reales without striving for them.
4. Gathering Materials for Ship Upgrades

Stacking up Reales won’t give you the grandest of ships; rather, you’ll have to earn it. If you wish to engage with more powerful ships, you’ll have to upgrade Jackdaw. Try focusing on collecting materials by constantly engaging in battles.
Mind you, ship battles will increase your notoriety. But I got a neat way to avoid that. Instead of engaging with your ship, you can leave the helm and swim aboard enemy ships. Eliminate all of them on foot to gain all the loot with no consequences.
5. Upgrading Harbormaster

In Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, upgrading Harbormaster posts is pivotal for progression. Harbormaster enhancements unlock better Jackdaw upgrades, which you’ll need to keep up with the rising tension on the sea.
6. Getting Double Shot Front Cannon

On the northwest section of the map, you’ll find the Dry Tortuga Fort (223,722) on a small island. Once you capture it, you’ll get the Double Shot upgrade for Jackdaw. This loads up powerful front-facing cannons that you can use to damage ships in front of Jackdaw.
7. Equipping Exotic Sea Shell Trinket

Trinkets are a new addition in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, and you can get one of the most useful ones early in the game. On the southern side of Havana (213,568), you’ll find a large blue chest that contains the Exotic Sea Shell Trinket. This perk was certainly helpful for my gameplay, as it increases the yield from skinning animals.
8. Crafting Pistol Holsters

While Edward is capable of carrying four pistols, you’ll need holsters to keep them. Just like in the original, you’ll need animal skins (2x Ocelot Pelt, 2x Rabbit Pelt, 4x Bull Shark Skin) to upgrade your holster. Since I had the Exotic Sea Shell Trinket, the grind became much easier.
9. Synchronizing Every Viewpoint

Synchronizing viewpoints is pivotal for Assassin’s Creed games, as they unlock several points of interest. The same rule applies for Black Flag Resynced as well. Additionally, they unlock fast travel points as well, which has made my travels efficient.
10. Using Broken Ships to Repair Mid-Battle

Old-school fans may already know this trick, but you can use sabotaged ships to repair Jackdaw. In the original Black Flag, you could board the ships mid-battle and grab quick health, and the same works on the remake. If the situation gets too wonky, use this trick to linger in the fight longer.
