Mortal Kombat 1 is open for pre-orders and is set to release of September 19, 2023, on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. According to the developer, players will need at least 100 GB of free space in order to play Mortal Kombat 1.

No previous-gen versions of Mortal Kombat 1 have been announced by the developer as of yet, with players unsure if they will be able to play the title on their PS4. The massive file size and storage requirements, i.e., 100 GBs has shocked players; however, it could mean a grand game, pointing towards a rich and detailed story and cinematic elements, as well as an extensive overhaul in terms of graphical quality.
System requirements for Mortal Kombat 1, however, seem lenient than many recent PC launches, such as Forspoken, Redfall, and Dead Space remake, with the developer recommending 1080ti and 8GB of RAM. Aforementioned titles required a whole lot of firepower and high-end system requirements that a lot of average PC gamers do not possess. With Mortal Kombat 1, however, the developer seems to have made some compromises to make the game more agile and sustainable for play on mid-ranged gaming PCs.
