New reports and leaks suggest that 2019’s Gears 5 is now available to play on GeForce Now. Post the finalization of Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard by EU authorities, the first of the Xbox PC games has gone live on Nvidia’s cloud gaming service, GeForce Now.
Gears 5 is supposedly the first game from Xbox Studios to have gone live for the subscribers of this cloud gaming service and is open for streaming. Reports also suggest that some new games will join the service pretty soon. Titles like Pentiment, Grounded, and Deathloop are expected to make their way to GeForce Now on May 25.
Nvidia had also teased the expected appearance of Gears 5 on GeForce Now in a cryptic manner on their Twitter feed. This has sparked debate between fans, some hoping for Metal Gear Solid, while others hoping for an installment from Gears of War series.

This new development can be credited to various deals Microsoft had made while its proposed acquisition of Activision Blizzard was stalled by British regulators. Through these deals, Microsoft promises the maintenance of healthy competition in the relatively small cloud gaming industry.
Nvidia and Microsoft’s deal
Microsoft’s deal with Nvidia was announced in February, with Microsoft’s President declaring a 10-year partnership with Nvidia. Even with the future of this acquisition uncertain and the US Trading Commission’s hearing pending, Microsoft has announced that all the Xbox Studio games coming to GeForce Now would be available for the service’s subscribers for the next 10 years.
GeForce Now developers are also reported to be working on supporting the management of its users through Microsoft Store and Nvidia stated that the support would be available over the next few months.
