Star Wars Zero Company can be a punishing experience if you head into the game without preparing; many players have started all over to create a fairer gameplay. The game hands out all of its tools to the player right at the beginning of the game; the mistakes or consequences of picking or prioritizing the wrong order of action come later on in the game.
If you are starting you and are at earlier section of the game and a bit confused on Cross Training section, which one that you should prioritize first to improve your operators, then in this guide we will delve into Cross Training for early section in Star Wars Zero Company and I will also list out a couple of tips to help you prepare for the journey that awaits for you in the game.
Best Early Game Cross-Training Choices

Raising the bond with the operators comes with a handful of advantages; one such perk is Cross-Training. Early on in the campaign, you should pay attention to Cross-Training and pick the one that meets your playstyle and will be helpful later on in the game. Just like many of the options in-game, here you will also run into many choices; all of them might feel important, and in many ways, they are, but we can prioritize them to smoothly fit into our overall game.
#1 | First Choice: Combined Fire Games
The first thing that you should concentrate on is Combined Fire Games, which increases your Assist Damage by +1 for both operators. If you are new to the game, you might feel like dismissing Assist Damage, but it does play a crucial role in the game. Assist Damage never misses; in short, what you have here is guaranteed damage on hit.
#2 | Second Choice: Timing Exercise
After improving the Assist Damage by getting Combined Fire Games, the next upgrade should head towards a critical chance increase for both operators. To fill that hole in our life, we have Timing Exercises, which raises the Critical Chance by 3% for both operators. Pretty self-explanatory: Critical Chance will create the pathway to help us deal critical damage on both operators. This is also part of the damage dealing, which we should prioritize first in the game.
#3 | Third Choice: Close Combat Drills or Ranged Combat Drills
Starting out, you should prioritize your overall damage, and it comes down to the build. If your build is primarily focused on melee, then focus on melee damage or resort to a ranged damage increase. If you picked Close Combat Drill, then for the next training, focus on Ranged Combat Drill and vice versa.
Note: Don’t neglect Ranged Combat Drill or range damage. When you are improving Range damage, you are also helping range assist damage. The other thing you should also note, melee attacks can’t miss, so if you are hyper-focused on building a melee build, then melee is the best choice for you.
#4 | Fourth Choice: Freeform Training
Once you feel like you are doing a decent amount of damage, then the next appropriate training will be Freeform Training, which allows you and the other operator to gain +2 Focus Points.
Tips for Cross Training
- Improve the bond for operators; it’s the only way to get new Cross Training. Do note, the dialogue choices can also influence the bond stat.
- Early on, focus on damage increase (including assist)over anything else. Then eventually move down the ladder and focus on Movement.
- When you reach the mid-game portion, movement will slowly become a huge factor, so don’t avoid movement after you focus on damage dealing so you will be able to stand against many rough battles in the game.
- When it comes to range vs melee, I will prefer you to focus more on range, as most of the game is blaster range. That’s not to say melee doesn’t have its fair playground, but most battles will be in a ranged playing field.
