It’s a typical sight to encounter different endings in an RPG; once the game starts to offer choices in side quests and encounters that run on a time limit, they are solid indicators that a game has different endings. While RPGs typically tend to have few endings, The Blood of Dawnwalker has around seven. Each ending uncovers a new side to the story and sets up a conclusion that might feel like a proper ending to some and unfinished to others.
Triggering different endings will require carrying out certain key tasks; you just can’t rush to them head-on and expect the game to hand you a trophy. Here, I will point out all the endings to The Blood of Dawnwalker and how to trigger each one in the game.
All Endings in The Blood of Dawnwalker

There are seven different endings; each one will lead to a different outcome. Before I delve into detailing all of them, let’s take a brief look at each one and some key details that will prove to be useful.
| Ending Name | Related Trophy | Goal |
| The Turncoat (Bad Ending) | The Turncoat (Silver Trophy) | Strike a deal with Brencis |
| The Folkhero (Good Ending) | The Folkhero (Silver Trophy) | Defeat Brencis on your own |
| The Patricide (Good Ending) | The Patricide (Silver Trophy) | Defeat Brencis with Lacra |
| The Knyazmaker (Good Ending) | The Knyazmaker (Silver Trophy) | Defeat Brencis with Crake |
| A Hero They Deserve (Bad Ending/ Early Unlockable) | A Hero They Deserve (Bronze Trophy) | Escape Vale Sangora |
| Together Forever (Bad Ending) | Together Forever (Bronze Trophy) | Complete Home Sweet Home: stay with the Family. |
| Time Runs Out (Bad Ending/ Early Unlockable) | None | Spend more than 30 in-game days, which will end Coen’s Family. |
Long story short, defeating Brencis will lead to a good ending, and not taking him out will lead to multiple bad endings. Some of them can be triggered early on after the prologue.
#1| The Turncoat Ending

Objective: Betray the allies to get a deal with Brencis to get Coen’s family back.
- Key Requirement #1| Must save Esme during the prologue by brewing the proper potion.
- Key Requirement #2| Defeat Ambrus/Bakir/Xanthe within 30 days.
After defeating all three bosses (Ambrus/Bakir/Xanthe), the infamy level will be at its peak. After a day, you will receive a message from Brencis to strike a parley. This will trigger the final quest “A Deal with the Devil”. Now, during the questline, you will need to pick specific dialogue options to trigger the ending; they are:
- “I just want my family back.“
- “I’ll do it.“
Brencis will now have a task for us; he will want us to mark the Manumit Hideout Location. It won’t be as easy as it sounds, as you must carry out three specific side quests to get an invitation to the hideout. These side quests are: “The Firebrand“, “Shadows in the Woods“, and “Where Loyalty Lies“. All the mentioned quests are chained together, which means completing one will unlock the next one. First, start the side quest The Firebrand in the Military Camp in Briar Sloughs.
Complete the first two side quests, and during the last quest, “Where Loyalty Lies”, you will finally get into Manumit Hideout. Now just wait out the clock and interact with the door to the hideout to get this ending.
Note: You can trigger this ending during Lacra’s and Crake’s endings by following the same path but by choosing different dialogue lines. For Lacra, you must choose the line “I accept your offer. I’m sorry, Lacra,” and for Crake, you need to select “Please – maybe we can come to an agreement.”
You will unlock two trophies here: one for unlocking the ending “The Turncoat” and another one, “In the Nick of Time,” for completing it within 30 days.
#2| The Folk Hero

Objective: Defeating Brencis on your own and taking all the glory for yourself.
- Key Requirement #1 | Defeat Ambrus/Bakir/Xanthe within 30 days.
Then you will get the quest “A Deal with the Devil” from Brencis about striking a parley. Unlike in the first ending, here you just have to choose “Enough. Time to End this.” to start the battle against Brencis without the help of Lacra or Crake by your side. Since you are taking the task on your shoulders without Lacra or Crake, you will get the trophy “The Folk Hero” after defeating Brencis on your own.
Note: You can kill Brencis early on in the game after completing the prologue by jumping over the wall to the castle or taking the side entrance (Can be done by defeating the Georghe miniboss in the Rabid Duke, near Racovitza’s Bandit Camp). Just use Planeshift and Shadowstep to jump over the wall. You will get a warning once you are on top; then the cutscene will trigger. If you manage to kill him, the trophy is yours.
#3| The Patricide

Objective: Defeat Brencis with the help of Lacra by your side.
Key Requirement #1 | Defeat Ambrus/Bakir/Xanthe within 30 days.
Here, you must complete all of Lacra’s questline until you get the Midnight Reckoning, the ending quest. Do note that you must complete all the necessary Lacra quests available in the game, which can easily be done if you are involved romantically with her.
- Quest #1| A Friend Like This
- Quest #2| Song of the Mountain
- Quest #3| Hive and Seek
- Quest #4| Our Rotten Roots
- Quest #5| The Night of Horrors (Optional) [Unlocks after Our Rotten Roots, leads to a “Misery Loves Company “Trophy.]
- Quest #6| Midnight Reckoning
Defeating Brencis with the help of Lacra will unlock the trophy “The Patricide” in the Blood of the Dawnwalker.
#4| The Knyazmaker

Objective: Defeat Brencis with Crake.
Key Requirement #1 | Defeat Ambrus/Bakir/Xanthe within 30 days.
Basically the same as the last one, but instead of Lacra by our side, we will have Crake. Take him to the battle against Brencis and defeat him to unlock this ending. And just like the last one, we must complete all of Crake’s questline beforehand. If you are romantically involved with Crake, then you will easily get to the last quest on the line, “Rise At Dawn,” to trigger the ending.
- Quest #1| The Firebrand
- Quest #2| Shadows in the Woods
- Quest #3| Where Loyalty Lies
- Quest #4| What Hunts the Night
- Quest #5| What Moves the Dead
- Quest #6| Who Pulls the Strings
- Quest #7| Distant Shadows (optional)
- Quest #8| A Closer Look (optional) [Unlocks after Distant Shadows, leads to earning the “The Manumit” Trophy.]
- Quest #9| Rise at Dawn
- Quest #10| Fall Before Dusk
After defeating Brencis with Crake, you will get the Knyazmaker trophy for triggering this ending.
#5| A Hero They Deserve/ The Coward’s Path

Objective: Escape Vale Sangora.
You can easily say how this is a bad ending without me telling you anything about it. Basically, you are just leaving everything behind. That’s right, going out to get a pack of cigarettes, leaving everything as it is without even trying to help anyone. This one can easily be triggered by coming across the Valley exit in Coward’s Path, found in the west section of the map. Once you reach the path, choose the option “[leave the valley forever],” and it will put you on the path of leaving Vale Sangora. This means you are leaving Laslea and your family behind to face their fate without any intervention.
Leaving the area will complete the game, and you will earn “A Hero They Deserve” and “The Blood of the Dawnwalker” achievements. The first achievement is about triggering this hidden ending, and the second one is for finishing the game for the very first time.
Note: This ending is peculiar, as you can easily unlock it after the prologue, but you must work at night to get this one.
#6| Together Forever

Objective: Here you are staying with your family
- First Step– “Home Sweet Home Quest“: Trigger the quest “Home Sweet Home” by interacting with the door on the first floor of Silts Tower located southwest of the map.
- Second Step– “Not Ending the Loop”: Interacting with the door will put you in a dream, but it’s running in a loop. After dealing with the loop events, the game will push you to interact with the well in the area to complete the quest, but that is not what we are going to do here. Instead of interacting with the well, we must put ourselves through the endless loop.
This will go on for four cycles, which means defeating the same group of enemies and the boss four times. On your fifth loop, talk to the family at the start, and you will get trapped in a dream with them. Triggering this ending will unlock the “Together Forever” achievement in the game.
Note: You can escape the loop after triggering the ending by inspecting the well with the Focus Mode. You will hear the voices speaking to Coen, which will take you to the cave; head inside the cave to find the portal to the Church. Here you must help the priest by interacting with people in the specific order (Alin > Esme > Coen> The Locked Door) to open the church door. And soon after, you will be respawned t o the open world and defeat the enemy to get the “Astrologer’s Ring“.
#7| Time Runs Out

Objective: Letting Coen’s family die by spending over 30 days in the game.
After completing the prologue, if you spend more than 30 in-game days, you will get a cutscene of your family dying. This will trigger this ending with no achievement. You can easily get this one by running out of time by waiting at the shrine for 30 days. It should be noted that, even if Coen’s family is dead, you are allowed to roam in the world without any problem.
Note: You can complete other endings even after the death of the family for going over the 30-day limit. Only the ending that requires the Coen family member’s survival will be affected; for example, the Turncoat ending. The game also counts this one as a common ending, so you will also earn the Blood of Dawnwalker trophy.
