Beast of Reincarnation builds are extremely good, and they will drastically change the pace of the game. You can start putting the pieces together for a build right around the opening chapters and see it grow to a broken build once you add every necessary upgrade unlock.
Here we will take a look at the Lightning Thunder Build with the primary focus on dealing as much lightning damage as possible to a wider area while looking at proper item and skill options for Emma and Koo to make the build efficient in combat in Beast of Reincarnation.
Why Go With the Lightning Thunder Build?
While you will easily find swords for Acid, Poison, and Flame damage, out of them all, you will find a plethora of weapons with lightning damage support. The options for lightning weapons are way too many, but for this build we will take one particular lightning damage sword, Thunderwave Sword. You get this automatically by defeating the Agile Golem near the end of Chapter 2. So by the opening of Chapter 3, you have the crucial weapon in your possession to set the build around it. Till the time you get your hands on this weapon, you can work with what we have put up here as the best early game build in Beast of Reincarnation.
If you look at the weapon’s Cast Down Lightning perk only activates when you manage to parry an enemy, but there are other ways we can use the perk without having to rely on parry. This makes the build more fun, as you will need to carry out a set of actions to instantly apply the effect of lightning on Emma’s sword strikes. Another highlight is the range; the lightning strikes can happen at a distance from enemies. Emma doesn’t need to be in close proximity to the enemy to cast down lightning; once the sword’s perk is activated, Emma can perfect it at a distance.

Recommended Spirit Stones for the Build
- Entanglement Stone: Basically, it allows Emma to start every combat encounter with an Entanglement Gauge (EG) at 3. And Koo will also get +3 FP at the start of the combat too.
- Entangled Conquest: Now, to partner with the Entanglement Stone, we will need to look at Entangled Conquest. This stone will add 0.6 to Entanglement Gauge and 1 to Koo’s FP every time we defeat an enemy in combat,
- Entangled Combo: This stone reaches Emma’s EG by 0.2 and Koo’s FP by 1 once you reach the attack combo of 15.
Note: You can also shoot with your ranged weapon to trigger the bonus effect of Entangled Combo.
- Final Infusion: When you perform an execution, it restores Emma’s EG by 0.6 and Koo’s FP by 1.
And lastly, you can add Onslaught to add 3 Vigor at the start of every combat encounter. Onslaught will offer the bonus damage for our build.
Recommended Armor for the Build
The important factor in choosing the perfect armor for the Lightning Thunder build in Beast of Reincarnation is the number of Spirit Stone slots and the Defense stat they offer:
- Floral Wraps: (Defense at 31/ Acid Resistance at 50/ Low Enemy Awareness)
- Dance Attire: (Defense at 39/ Flame and Lightning Resistance at 60/ Low Enemy Awareness)
- Amber Breastplate: (Defense at 49/ Acid Resistance at 90/ Extreme Enemy Awareness)
- God Tree Guard: (Defense at 59/ Poison and Acid Resistance at 80/ High Enemy Awareness)
Each armor mentioned above offers 6 slots for all the spirit stones we picked earlier. Early on, if you want to pair a perfect armor, then you can choose Floral Wraps, as it offers the 6 Spirit Stone slots. After wearing it for a while, you will need to hunt for the other one to make use of the same spirit stones without losing anything.
Recommended Skills/ Items/ Charm for the Build
- Skill Charm III: Lightning 3 (Charm)- Your normal attacks will turn into Lightning Strikes, max at 3. The charm also boosts the skill power by +20%.
Note: Getting this one will take some time, since the effects on the charms are randomly generated. Once you get a level 3 Lightning charm, the build will reach its peak.
- Shocking Fang: Damage enemies and cause a shock buildup of 40 with a 5-second cooldown.
- Bolt Shard: You can throw it at enemies to get a 100 shock buildup. But when you equip the Bolt Shard, Koo will use this item automatically.
The buildup will help us deal more lightning damage to the bosses and enemies; you will see the circle icon for the lightning buildup on the enemy’s HP bars.

- Higanbana Seeds – Rapid Cooling Mod
- Higanbana Bloom – Swamp Summoner Mod
- Higanbana Roots – Status Effect Amp Mod
- Sakura: Javelin- Battleborn Mod
- Sakura: Javelin II – Shocking Vigor Mod

Out of all the ones mentioned above, I recommend getting the Battleborn Mod for the Sakura Javelin; this one allows Koo’s attack on enemies to trigger Emma’s weapon skill. So in combat, when Koo performs the Sakura Javelin attack, it will turn on the lightning strike on Emma’s weapon. Now Emma will be able to cast Lightning Strike at close and at a distance from enemies. Just swing your sword in the direction of the enemies, and lightning strikes will be cast down on them.
Other ones include Shocking Vigor Mod, which allows us to deal more damage on Shocked Enemies, and Status Effect Amp mod, which helps us build effects on enemies 2x faster than default.
Recommended Skill Points for the Build
Here we will look at skill points that will further enhance the Lightning Thunder build in Beast of Reincarnation.
Skill Points for Koo:
- FP Cost Down Lv.1: Lowers the FP points used on Koo’s attack. This will help us pull more of Koo’s javelin attack without worrying about FP decrease.
- Incantation: Adds 19% additional status effect buildup with all skills.
Skill Point for Emma:
- Expand Entanglement Gauge: The Entanglement Gauge will now hold 7 charges. Do note that this one requires the skill Entanglement Overdrive Lv.1.
- Instant Entanglement: Killing an enemy will fill the Entanglement Gauge. Once you reach Level 3, the chance will be increased to 35%.
Note: This bonus Entanglement gain will stack with the Spirit Stone’s effects.
- Extend Blade Effects: Raise the weapon effect duration. Once you fully upgrade it to Lv.4, you will get a duration increase of +80%.
Another skill that you should focus on is Entangled Thunder and Helm Splitter.
That’s it. Since you can start this build early, as Thunderwave Sword does show up in the automatic story progression, you are set for this one pretty early into the game.
