There aren’t many tracks that challenge a driver as much as the Suzuka International Racing Course. For this track, which is known as one of the ultimate driving challenges, you will need a setup tuned just right for it. The skill level required for Suzuka is high, and even with that, you can still fail with the wrong setup.

Let’s take a look at how you can create the most well-tuned F1 23 Japan setup no matter what conditions you’re driving in.

Best F1 23 Japan setup: Settings for dry and wet conditions

Japan is a high-speed track that has snaking S-curve turns that require your car to hold stable under grip and traction. Many turns lead straight into another turn in the opposite direction which can throw your weight balance all over the place without a good setup.

Despite this, it is one of the most fun tracks among racers as it provides a lot of challenges to get better at racing. Our F1 23 Japan setup will focus on a high-speed build that also ensures smooth turning and cornering.

Aerodynamics

For the twisting curves on the Japan track, we need some ability to take turns and stay under control better. This is why for the F1 23 Japan setup, it is recommended you go for a high downforce setting on the aerodynamics. Higher downforce will largely help with the turns on this track and save time by taking turns quicker.

  • Front Wing Aero: 34
  • Rear Wing Aero: 40

Transmission

An open differential setting helps you get into high speed faster while the close differential helps traction in turns. For this build, our transmission settings will be focused on getting the acceleration so that you breeze past the numerous turns on the Japan Suzuka circuit.

  • Differential Adjustment on-throttle: 55
  • Differential Adjustment off-throttle: 54

Suspension Geometry

The suspension geometry settings play a big role in bringing stability and proper rotation in the F1 car. These settings in our F1 23 Japan setup will make sure your car is able to take those snaking turns without requiring you to control it a lot. It is based on having the smoothest entries and exists while having decent straight-line speed.

  • Front Camber: -3.00˚
  • Rear Camber: -1.50˚
  • Front Toe: 0.01˚
  • Rear Toe: 0.26˚

Suspension

Suspension is a rather personal part of an F1 setup. However, this track requires some specific type of settings like stiffer suspensions and high ride height so that you don’t bottom out. When tweaking these settings, use this as a base and then adjust slightly according to your style. Always make sure that the rear ride height is higher than the front because it works best in F1 23.

  • Front Suspension: 35
  • Rear Suspension: 25
  • Front Anti-Roll Bar: 11
  • Rear Anti-Roll Bar: 1
  • Front Ride Height: 35
  • Rear Ride Height: 40

Brakes

A balanced amount of front brake bias is recommended for the F1 23 Japan setup. This will make it equally decent at both turning and high-speed braking. You can still adjust it slightly according to your preference. Brake pressure should always be at 100% but you can sometimes consider lowering it to 95% if it’s wet or when you’re driving with ABS off.

  • Brake Pressure: 100%
  • Front Brake Bias: 54%

Tyres

With the tyre pressure settings, you need to make sure your tyres can provide enough grip while making it so that it lasts as long as possible. Tyre wear can be a tough thing to test as it requires long-term testing.

These settings have proven to have optimal tyre wear with great performance and handling. Tweak this only if you know the ins and outs as changing these slightly can result in significant difference in your handling of the wheel throughout the laps.

  • Front Right Tyre Pressure: 22.7
  • Front Left Tyre Pressure: 22.7
  • Rear Right Tyre Pressure: 20.3
  • Rear Left Tyre Pressure: 20.3

The Suzuka circuit in Japan can be a really tough one to master, it’s almost on the same level as the tougher and shorter street tracks. But, with our F1 23 Japan setup, it will be considerably easier going around the twisty turns all the way to the top of the standings.

With the F1 23 Japan setup concluded, you may want to take a look at F1 23 Imola setup and F1 23 Monza setup to add more track expertise into your repertoire.
