As you play Darkest Dungeon 2, you will quickly realize that the order of your Heroes in the party plays a crucial role. Some Heroes perform the worst in a situation and position where another character might be way stronger. But how do you change party order in Darkest Dungeon 2 once you are already in combat? Here is what you need to know.
How To Change Party Order during Combat in Darkest Dungeon 2
To change party order while in combat in Darkest Dungeon 2, you will have to use a skill that has the Shift effect. However, you cannot move around your Heroes and change their order as freely as you can before starting a mission.
The Shift effect skills can either send a character backward or forward. They also vary in shifting the target character from one space to up to three spaces. Some characters have multiple Shift effect skills while others don’t have them at all.

Here are all the Heroes with Shift skills that can change party order in Darkest Dungeon 2:

There is certainly a give and take with this because these order changes require you to use a turn and attack. If you don’t pay attention, you can end up using these skills for its attack but then end up changing the party order where the weak hero gets moved into a vulnerable position.
So, whenever you change your party order during combat using these shift skills in Darkest Dungeon 2, make sure you plan accordingly or it may harm your run more than helping it.
