The final part of Act 1 in Baldur’s Gate 3 takes you into the depths of Grymforge where the Ancient Adamantine Forge can be found. This forge requires a special ore to use, but how do you get Mithril Ore in Baldur’s Gate 3? Mithril was tough to get but I found at least two sources of it, which also turns out are the only two sources in the game. Read below to see where they are located.
How To Find Mithril Ore In Baldur’s Gate 3
Mithril Ore is found in the Underdark Ancient Forge which is accessible via Grymforge. From the “Underdark – Ancient Forge” waypoint, you can find two Mithril Viens that can be mined for Mithril Ore.
One is on the left of the waypoint, you can find this by going straight and then turning left where the winged Magma Mephits are. Defeat them so you can mine the Mithril Ore. The other one is down a winding path on the other side where the lava is flowing, this one is easier to get as there are no enemies here.
How To Mine Mithril In Baldur’s Gate 3
You can mine Mithril Veins for Mithril Ore in Baldur’s Gate 3 by attacking it with a weapon that does bludgeoning damage. I used a high-damage weapon on Lae’zel since she is my strength-based character which made it way faster.
Keep in mind that there are only two Mithril Viens you can mine which means you will only have two Mithril Ore to use for the Adamantine Forge. To use the Mithril Ore to forge an item, you will also need the Mould of the item you are trying to forge which can be found in and around Grymforge by exploring.
