As you reach the final leg of Onimusha: Way of the Sword, you will still have a few puzzles and blocked entryways to maneuver around. During the In the Light of an Icy Moon quest, you will travel to Arashiyama to investigate the Malice here and seal the rifts. After navigating the Adashino Nenbutsuji Temple and defeating Dohatsu-ten, you will reach a dead end.
While Musashi suggests turning back, Shizuka will mention investigating the area a bit more. This doesn’t really help, as there is nothing else in the immediate vicinity that will help you travel past the blockage. But if you look close enough, you can find a solution nearby. And if you still can’t figure it out, then this guide is for you.
In the Light of an Icy Moon – Find the Hidden Path Guide
The hidden path unlocks on interacting with a statue named ‘Hell’, and then walking through the boulder blocking your way. At the very western section past the Adashino Nenbutsuji Temple, you will find a large central structure and a small tombstone on your right once you reach the Bamboo Grove. You can investigate the large structure to find carved figurines on it. At first, nothing’s going to happen until you use Oni Vision to view any hints. The small tombstone nearby will start glowing right after that, so head over there and investigate it.
Shizuka will give you one hint after reading the tombstone: When going through hell, one must keep going. Now, head back to the large structure and interact with each of the figurines on it. Each figurine will have a unique name, but you need to look out for the one named Hell. Go around each one and interact with them one by one until you find Hell, which is at the very back of the structure.
After the interaction, turn around and walk straight into the boulder ahead. The surroundings will end up being an illusion, and you can now get to the next area and continue the rest of the questline. Before heading forward, I suggest taking some time to explore the nearby vicinity, as you can pick up some Hozuki and a Horn Token (Blazing) close to the structure.
