Electronic Arts will be using the Unreal Engine 5 to create their new AAA Iron Man game to offer gamers a cutting-edge gameplay experience. This information was revealed after the developer posted a job opening on their official website for a Senior Audio Software Developer role for the upcoming title.
The job listing specifies:
‘We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Audio Software Developer to join our dynamic team working on the upcoming AAA Iron Man game developed with Unreal Engine 5. As a Senior Audio Software Developer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and optimising audio systems and features to create an immersive and realistic gaming experience.‘
EA choses Unreal Engine over Frostbite for Iron Man game
The new Iron Man game will be the second EA game created using Unreal Engine 5. The only other EA game developed using UE 5 is the upcoming Immortals of Aveum. Electronic Arts is known to develop their mainline entry games using their in-house Frostbite Engine. Some of the recent releases, such as Madden 23, NFS Unbound, and Dead Space utilized the same engine. However, EA has been considering using other engines to offer enhanced gameplay experience. One of the most recent examples of this is Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, which was developed using Unreal Engine 4.
We don’t have many details about the upcoming Iron Man game. From some of the press releases, we can gauge that this game will be single-player third-person action-adventure game. Montreal-based Motive Studios, who recently remade the Dead Space, is developing this AAA game for EA. The game was announced in September 2022 and is expected to be an open-world adventure.
Fans excited to get their hands on an AAA Iron Man game
After a long history of subpar Iron Man games, fans are definitely looking forward for a quality standalone title featuring the billionaire vigilante. Many of the previous games dedicated to Iron Avenger were disliked by fans, owing same-y nature of them and the lack of challenging and satisfying gameplay. It was only the Iron Man game on Meta Quest 2 that received positive reviews. Fans are extremely excited to learn that the new game will be designed using Unreal Engine 5, hoping for a Marvel’s Spider-Man-like game for the Armored Avenger.
