The upcoming Mortal Kombat 1 had its extended gameplay trailer aired during the Summer Game Fest, and yes, it is as gory and as violent as the series’ fans have come to expect by now. The trailer showcased details of the brand new Kameo gameplay, as well as several blood-curdling fatalities for various characters, including Liu Kang, Raiden, Scorpion, and Kung Lao.
Announcing the trailer, creator Ed Boon took the stage and explained the narrative structure that’s going to followed in Mortal Kombat 1. All the characters appearing in the trailer are already familiar to the hardcore fans of the series, however, their stories and their gameplay mechanics have been revamped in a grand reboot of sorts.
Kameo Fighters in Mortal Kombat 1 Revealed
The Mortal Kombat 1 gameplay trailer is certainly a huge hit, as it shows off Kameo fighters for the first time. After players select their primary playable character, they can choose a Kameo character that will assist them in the ensuing fight. Players will be able to press a single button to summon their Kameo counterparts, which will then join the fight and help the player for a selected amount of time.
With a large number of playable characters in Mortal Kombat 1’s roaster, it is definitely going to be interesting to see how different combinations work out. As one can endlessly select various Kameo characters to accompany their main characters, there will be hundreds of different playing and combo action possibilities.
The gameplay trailer for Mortal Kombat 1 also shared a glimpse into the massive character roaster of the upcoming game, introducing the players to playable characters, such as Raiden, Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Mileena, Kitana, Johnny Cage, and Kameo characters like Kano, Prince Goro, and possibly Stryker and Jax.
