Amidst the excitement about the upcoming Xbox showcase, the company has posted a new teaser on Twitter. This post hints towards the inclusion of a brand-new Fable game in the June 11 event.
The short video in the Xbox tweet features the iconic theme from the Fable games, a not-so-subtle path of glitter (a prominent element in the games), and it ends with a computer screen displaying the Xbox showcase logo. There’s also a quote in the video that says, “seems important, see you there June 11!”

A new Fable title was announced in 2020, along with the information that Playground Games, the studio behind Forza Motorsport, will be the one developing the title. Xbox had also stated that the game will be coming to Xbox Series X as well as PC. At the time, only a short story trailer was released and no information about the game’s release or even planned window was made public. It looks like we will finally get an official trailer and/or a release date announcement during the upcoming showcase.
Playground Games seems to have worked their magic with this popular series whose last few instalments failed to amaze the players. Even last year, the head of Xbox Game Studios, Matt Booty, had expressed a desire to show off some bits and pieces of the Fable game in-development, however, he was denied the opportunity by the development team at Playground Games. He said,
“They (Playground Games) don’t want to show stuff early before it’s ready to go, but if there’s one game where that’s kind of flipped around, where every time I see something I say, ‘We should show this’, it’s Fable. Because there’s a lot of cool stuff.”
The fantasy action-adventure series was definitely a hit in its early days, with several gamers still hoping for a reboot. At this moment, it is unclear whether this collaboration with Playground Games is intended as a segway for series reboot or just a new instalment.
