One look at the visuals of The Adventures of Elliot, and you can easily spot the visual aesthetic of Octopath Traveler and Bravely Default. The Adventures of Elliot, this brand new JPRG explores a unique storyline with remarkable elements, as the main protagonist, Elliot, and his fairy friend, Faie, jump through different timelines to remove the curse on the princess. Throughout the adventure, the map might remain the same, but the timelines will shift from one age to another, and so will change the areas, names of many locations, collectible items, side quests, new weapons, and more.
The timeline changes make Elliot and Faie explore Age of Safekeeping, then Age of Reconstruction, then Age of Magic, and finally Age of Budding. Each age holds a lore detail for Elliot and the history of the world of The Adventures of Elliot. The game offers fast-paced combat gameplay and showers the player with new weapons with different variations to make the combat feel fresh. Exploration plays a key role in hunting down and finding new weapons, better and stronger than the ones we got at the earlier stages. This momentum of finding and grabbing new weapons, fairy powers, and more carries till the end of the game.
Your decisions, whether minor or major, do have a weight in the game’s ending. It features three different endings, showcasing three different scenarios when the story could potentially end. So if you are planning to bite into a good JRPG, don’t skip out on The Adventures of Elliot.
