Cheating has no place in gaming. Whether it’s a first-person shooter or sports sim, there’s nothing worse than encountering a hacker ruining the action. In preparation for the launch of Modern Warfare 4, Call of Duty has revamped its measures to ensure your matches remain a level playing field. If you plan on loading into the beta weekends on a PC, certain requirements must be met to play. Here, find everything there is to know about the Call of Duty anti-cheat requirements, including how to enable them ahead of time.
What Are the Call of Duty Anti-Cheat Requirements?

To play the current iterations of Call of Duty and Warzone, you must have TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot enabled on your PC. The Windows security features are used by Ricochet Anti-Cheat to build a foundation on your device and to check whether there’s any unauthorised software influencing your in-game performance.
Activision says the settings make it harder for cheaters to make system-level adjustments, resulting in fewer cheaters negatively impacting the experience in multiplayer and battle royale matches. Improved integrity of online matches means you’ll come across legitimate players instead of those gaining an unfair advantage.
How to Enable TPM 2.0 & Secure Boot for Modern Warfare 4
The process of enabling TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot on your PC is a straightforward one. In most cases, your PC will already have the settings enabled by default. If so, you don’t need to do anything, and you can load into the beta as soon as it goes live.
If you haven’t got the settings enabled, here’s what you need to do:
TPM 2.0
- Press the Windows Key and R.
- Type tpm.msc in the Run window.
- Check the status list to see if TPM is ready for use. If so, you’re good to go.
- If not, you need to enter the BIOS to enable it.
- In your BIOS, look for TPM settings, enable it, and reboot the device.
Secure Boot
- Press the Windows Key and R.
- Type msinfo32 in the Run window.
- Check to see if your BIOS Mode is listed as UEFI.
- Check that the Secure Boot State is listed as On. If so, you can play without issue.
- If not, enter the BIOS.
- Look for the Boot options and enable it.
Once these changes are made, Windows will ask you for permission to load Call of Duty. Once accepted, you can enjoy the beta and everything it has in store.
Can I Play Call of Duty Without TPM 2.0 & Secure Boot?
No, Call of Duty will not run on your PC without TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot enabled. It may seem frustrating to activate the settings, but it’s essential to prevent hackers from gaining the upper hand on the battlefield.
